Marta, Martina, Quintilla<\/em><\/strong>, 5B<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything started when Mr. Ryan<\/span><\/strong>, an American teacher who teaches English at foreign students that live in Los Angeles, and Miss Toso, our English teacher, met and decided to create this project with their respective classes. The L.A. students are all adults, older than us, who for whatever reason ended up in the United States<\/span><\/strong>. Hearing their stories opened our minds up and we managed to get to know the world from different and new perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire project revolved all around the first episode of the Netflix tv series Atypical that was meant to be the main theme of the debate between the two classes. In addition, it was important as well meeting and getting to know the American students and their cultures given that they all come from different places in the world such as Iran, China, Armenia and so forth. Precisely because of this purpose we were divided into couples and afterwards we started discussing the themes and creating a digital content with the aim of presenting it in front of the classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover we were asked to create a video about Turin<\/span><\/strong> and everyone had to make a brief footage about a specific place in Turin. It was somehow a way for us to rediscover our city and for them to get to know a place that they probably never heard about before. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This experience gave us, as a class, the opportunity to meet amazing people<\/strong> from all around the world<\/strong><\/span> and we couldn\u2019t be more grateful for that. Furthermore, they were always willing to collaborate with us even if we live in two different time zones. For instance, on our first meeting the American students had to get up at 5 in the morning just to be able to talk to us, it was very thoughtful of them to be so available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, this project turned out to be a useful and educational experience<\/span><\/strong>. We learned how to interact with people of different cultures that have different habits and beliefs. It might sound easy to do but it wasn\u2019t, many of us were concerned that they would say something inappropriate or that they could somehow offend their beliefs, without considering the age gap between us, but fortunately everything turned out to be easier than we thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, in conclusion we are all extremely enthusiastic<\/span> <\/strong>about the chance that they gave us to take part in such a great project. Some more than others had the chance to get to know the American students better and they managed to create a friendship with them that might last for a long time. In fact, we all look forward to meeting them in person one day in the future. One of us was indeed invited to stay in L.A. as a host of one of the families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a class, we honestly can\u2019t wait to attend their Zoom meeting that will take place on May 3rd to watch their presentations about us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da Torino a Los Angeles: un progetto multiculturale<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Tutto \u00e8 cominciato quando il professor Ryan<\/strong><\/span>, un docente americano che insegna inglese a studenti stranieri che vivono a Los Angeles, e la professoressa Toso, la nostra insegnante di inglese, hanno deciso di dare vita a questo progetto con le rispettive classi. Gli studenti del professor Ryan sono tutti pi\u00f9 grandi di noi e per un motivo o per l’altro sono finiti negli Stati Uniti<\/span><\/strong>. Ascoltare le loro storie ha aperto le nostre menti e siamo riusciti a vedere il mondo da prospettive diverse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


L’intero progetto ruotava intorno al primo episodio della serie tv Netflix, Atypical su cui si doveva basare il dibattito tra le due classi. Allo stesso modo, \u00e8 stato importante incontrare e conoscere gli studenti americani e le loro culture<\/span><\/strong> dato che provengono da svariati luoghi del mondo come l’Iran, la Cina, l’Armenia e cos\u00ec via. Proprio per questo motivo ci siamo divisi in coppie e successivamente abbiamo iniziato a confrontarci sui temi e a creare un contenuto digitale con l’obiettivo di presentarlo davanti alle classi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In aggiunta, ci \u00e8 stato chiesto di realizzare un video su Torino<\/span><\/strong> in cui ciascuno di noi doveva fare un breve filmato su un luogo specifico della citt\u00e0. \u00c8 stato un modo per noi di riscoprire la nostra citt\u00e0 e per loro di conoscere un luogo di cui probabilmente non avevano mai sentito parlare prima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Questa esperienza ci ha dato l’opportunit\u00e0 di incontrare persone straordinarie da tutto il mondo<\/strong><\/span> e non potremmo esserne pi\u00f9 grati. Si sono rivelati essere sempre molto disponibili a collaborare con noi anche se viviamo in due zone orarie differenti. Infatti, al nostro primo incontro gli studenti americani si sono svegliati alle 5 del mattino solo per poterci parlare ed \u00e8 stato molto premuroso da parte loro essere cos\u00ec disponibili.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inoltre, questo progetto si \u00e8 rivelato un’esperienza utile ed educativa<\/span><\/strong>. Abbiamo imparato ad interagire con persone che hanno culture, abitudini e credenze differenti dalle nostre. Potrebbe sembrare facile da fare ma non lo \u00e8. In molti eravamo preoccupati di dire qualcosa di inappropriato o, in qualche modo, di offendere le loro convinzioni, data anche la differenza di et\u00e0. Fortunatamente tutto si \u00e8 rivelato pi\u00f9 facile di quanto ci immaginassimo.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quindi, in conclusione, siamo tutti estremamente entusiasti<\/span><\/strong> della possibilit\u00e0 che ci hanno dato di prendere parte a un cos\u00ec grande progetto. Alcuni, pi\u00f9 di altri, hanno avuto la possibilit\u00e0 di conoscere meglio gli studenti americani e sono riusciti a creare con loro un’amicizia che potrebbe durare a lungo. Non vediamo l’ora di incontrarli di persona un giorno, sperando che non sia troppo lontano. Uno di noi \u00e8 stato addirittura invitato a rimanere a Los Angeles come ospite di una delle famiglie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Come classe, siamo impazienti di partecipare al meeting su Zoom che si terr\u00e0 a maggio per guardare le presentazioni realizzate insieme.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
